Can I order colour samples for free?
Yes, of course! We are able to send you samples for all of our finishes and colours. Click here to order yours now.
Are Window Pods available for a Caravelle or Shuttle?
Unfortunately not, any vehicle with an interior plastic trim around the windows is not suitable for Window Pods. They must be fitted to the steel body of the vehicle; this can however be carpeted prior.
I don’t know what colour carpet my van is already carpeted in and I’m concerned about colour match.
We would recommend you speak with your local conversion company who will be able to help you. If not we can always send you a free sample in the post and take things from there.
Do your Window Pods cover the side windows too?
Yes they do, please take visit our WindowPod® page for more details.
I’m unsure what colour my van lining is already carpeted in, is there a way to find this out?
We would recommend you speak to your conversion company or previous owner regarding carpet colours to be sure, however, if you're unable to do so you can use our free sample service. Please be aware that our stocked carpets are limited, and we cannot guarantee a 100% match.
What do Window Pods look like from the outside of the vehicle? Is the blind colour the same on the outside?
As Window Pods® feature a thermal, blackout blind. Most blinds are white on the reverse (outside) to reflect light and heat. We have included two colours in our range which are coloured on the reverse which are Midnight and Wine.
What is a Window Pod and what are they made from?
A Window Pod is an ABS plastic frame vacuum formed to fit a window recess. The frame holds a polyester pleated blind which is completely blackout, with a foil lined honeycomb structure which adds thermal properties to the vehicle.
Can I fit a Window Pod behind my current kitchen splashback?
We manufacture our own splashbacks, and we can also offer a Window Pod or blind only (without frame) to be secured to the back of your existing splashback. This will be difficult to add to a splashback which is already installed in a vehicle!
I have bought a Vanshades splashback, how do I cut it to size?
As our splashbacks are sold by default in one size, they will need resizing to fit your vehicle. Whether you have an aluminium composite or acrylic splashback, they can be cut with a jigsaw and straight edge. We recommend using masking tape where you are cutting to avoid scratching and chipping.
Are Window Pods® compatible with Evo Motion Design kitchens?
As Evo kitchens are normally of a higher worktop height than most units. This can have an impact on a Window Pod for a sliding window behind the driver. We recommend using a splashback with an Evo kitchen.
Will the fitting of the product put any holes in the body of the vehicle?
As Window Pods are fitted with self-drilling screws, there will be holes in the steel bodywork of the vehicle, these are however all hidden by the product and are nowhere near any glass, electrics, or locks.
I have a rear wash wiper on my tailgate, will this affect the fitting of the Window Pod?
No, Window Pods have been designed with this in mind. The tailgate Window Pods® have a motor housing cover built in to cover the wiper motor.
Can the blinds be cleaned?
The blinds in Window Pods can be cleaned with a damp cloth.
What type of vans do you offer Window Pods for?
We currently manufacture Window Pods® for the VW T5/T6 and Ford Transit Custom (2013+). The pods are designed & precision engineered at our dedicated facility in South Yorkshire.
I’ve fitted a Window Pod to the sliding door of my vehicle, why won’t my door fully close?
You must have a VW factory sliding glass. Prior to fitting Window Pods®, you must remove the plastic trim cover on the top bar of the sliding window for the Window Pod to sit correctly. This is covered in our fitting guide provided with every order.
Can I install my Window Pod?
Window Pods are a pre-assembled blind and frame system which offers stylish privacy for all windows of your camper van. They're designed to be as easy as possible to fit directly into your camper interior, using just a few tools. Check out our 3-minute video installation tutorial.
I have replica VW windows, will Window Pods fit these?
If you have an aftermarket copy of the VW OEM Kombi sliding windows (flush glass from outside of vehicle), our product for the VW OEM windows should still fit, it is best to check with our sales team if you have any concerns regarding the style of your windows.
Can I order Window Pods without carpet?
Yes of course simply go to the options page and select naked Pods. Or why not take a look at our Spectrum Signature range of painted naked pods, an high grade luxury finish in a huge range of colours.

We currently offer privacy glass windows for the VW T5 & T6 models.

I cant find the image I need in the required format or resolution
That’s fine we can help with that too, although we do have to pass on a nominal artwork fee (POA).
Why do you print your designs and not sew them on?
We use a print process that is approved for all outdoor usage called Dye Sublimation which uses special inks to create transfers designed to be imprinted on textiles, and in which the dyes do indeed sublimate into the material. This means that there are no holes in our fabrics which, in time, will allow the ingress of water.
I can’t find the image I want on your image gallery, can you print my own supplied design?
Yes we can print any design, the only limitation is your imagination. If you need your Vanshade to match your vehicle colour for instance, simply supply us with the paint code and we’ll take care of the rest.
What format do you need the artwork in for my bespoke Vanshade?
Our printing art formats are as follows, PDF, AI and SVG. Minimum file size should be at least 4-5mp or 72dpi at full size. Don’t worry we can help you with the process.

On the plus side the window pods look good when carpeted and seem to work well so far, on the minus side, my pods took 6 weeks to arrive ( not sure if this because I made a slight change to my order ) the carpeting video online only shows how to carpet the simple pod, It would be better if the video covered the pods with cut outs such as the sliding door as this is more tricky to carpet, also the location for screws to retain the barn door pods is not clear ( it is quite important to get these in the correct position ) and finally I didn't receive screws to fit my barn door pods when they are shown as included, not sure whySo if you purchase these pods remember to allow plenty of time for your order to arrive!

Very impressive product! Well designed and produced. Fitted a set of these into my Ford transit custom today - barn doors and then a duo blind behind the driver and a duo blind behind the passenger on the sliding door. Easy enough to fit if you take your time. I’ve seen videos saying 90 seconds per blind but in reality you take longer. They look great, are ergonomic and really block out the light well. Took 5 weeks to arrive but the website does advise of lead times when ordering. Well worth the wait.

Ordered a set of J & K Duo silver Carpeted Blinds for our new VW T6, waited patiently for about 5 weeks for them to be delivered which was fine as I am prepared to wait for something decent.When they did arrive I was really impressed with them until I started to fit them....On opening the boxes I noticed there was a long piece of L shaped plastic on one of the flyscreen's that was loose, that only lasted two long weekends in the van before it fell off ! I managed to repair by dismantling the whole thing and re fitting 3 small screws that had been very roughly thrown in position by whoever assembled it at the factory.The shades fit OK but their not as seamless as you would think, the build quality of my set was pretty poor, the carpet on the external edges was not folded over onto the back as it shows on their "How to carpet a Vanshade" video, which means there was an ugly black plastic 3mm visible border around the perimeter which looks terrible against the other carpeted panels. again this was something I spent a day rectifying, while I was at it I also relived the handle cut out for the sliding door which was just too tight and was binding with the handle trim.Gripes aside the do work really well and look great when carpeted properly, but when you are paying nearly £600 for a "finished product" you don't really expect to spend a day and a half sorting out issues that could have been sorted with 5 mins of care & attention at the factory.Would I buy them again ? Probably because their a great design and work really well, but sadly for me anyway, let down by poor workmanship.Knowing what I know now I would just order the Naked Duo Vanshades and do the carpeting and QC myself.

Start to finish the team at Vanshades have been excellent. The quality of the product is second to none. I know there are some cheaper alternatives out there but, there's a reason they're cheaper. As the saying goes "you get what you pay for". Really are top quality blinds made easy to fit.The customer service is some of the best I've experienced in my life from regular emails to updates etc. Couldn't have asked for better.I would like to particularly thank Eve who went above and beyond to answer all my queries and sort me out with fantastic looking blinds.

I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. The products are incredible, the WindowPods have transformed our VW T5, and I can finally bin off the sucker based thermal mats I've spent years sticking and unsticking to the windows...After a perfectly avoidable self induced issue whilst fitting one of them, I was invited to their HQ in Barnsley, where Rich, Jack and the team really looked after me, fixing the problem I'd caused myself, and going above and beyond in terms of customer care, even diagnosing a completely unrelated head scratcher of an issue, and pointing me in the right direction to get that sorted.If you're even remotely considering a purchase, stop dithering and get it done, you won't regret it.

I ordered the tailgate window pod for my T6, and although the delivery took a while, the wait was absolutely worth it. The craftsmanship is exceptional, with meticulous attention to detail even on the parts that are not visible. I collected a Loc8 sliding door table for my T6 today from VanShades. Excellent customer service, from Eve on the phone to a manager who clarified fitting advice and answered queries. And the Loc8 table itself? Very good, much better than the table fitted by our converters and in some ways better than the table fitted in the California we used to own. Very pleased. Firstly, the product, I have the pod and blind system fitted to my VW transporter T5-they are brilliant, smooth operation, look fantastic, as if they were fitted at the factory.They are especially important to me, as I use them in the summer to keep the interior of the van cool for my dog.Now for the best bit; customer service, second to none, if something goes wrong with a product, and I must stress, this was not through poor quality, the measure of a good company is how they resolve that matter.Van shades are amazing, item posted back to them, and returned as good as new in 3working days-exceptional customer service, great communications from Eve, and a very happy customer. Don’t entertain any other inferior products, buy Van shades!

Fantastic product and customer service. Not only are the blinds a high quality product the customer service was exceptional. Unfortunately one of the blinds was damaged in transit. However upon emailing Vanshades to confirm and explaining that the van was due to go to the converters imminently they dispatched a replacement immediately and it was delivered the next day. I've had Vanshades pods in my T5.1 for a few years now and I love them! They're super black out, but they're also amazing at insulating the van - which I never knew about them!I've recently been back in touch with them to have a fly screen fitted and they were so helpful. Easy to follow instructions included, but also ample video tutorials available.The product itself is very well designed and the quality is also very good. A nice snug fit without interfering with the door seals.They have added a very stylish finish to my van, with the added benefit of being black out and colour matched to my interior.Thank you!

Isn't it good when you find a company that are professional, accommodating and true to their word.I've just got home from having a side shade fitted to my VW T5. The whole process from the initial phone call to driving away with my new "van Shades" blind was excellent. Absolutely excellent even!!!All the staff are courteous and attentive even though they are extremely busy.They have a very large, professional production facility which I'm sure they're going to out grow in the near future as the range of products and choice is vast.I chose a grey shade with grey material surround and it transforms my van immensely. The build quality is second to none too, and there's nothing out there (that I've seen) that comes close to this. So much better than curtains.I really appreciate the effort for fitting me in at such short notice (giving you only a few days to make my blind and Install it) even though I know you are absolutely pulled out with work.🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟A 5 star company where nothing is too much trouble.... Van Shades are FANTASTIC, product quality is superb at a good price.Contacted Ellie for some advice and to cut to the chase ended up taking the Camper to the factory in Barnsley and what a factory it is!!! I was greeted with a friendly welcome and a great cup of Yorkshire tea.Within an hour of arriving Rich, the Production Manager, had measured, manufactured and fitted blinds to suit my needs. A bit of a rocky experience made right by some good customer service. Confusion about an items appearance due to an incorrect website image, rectified with a replacement item sent within 24 hours. Lead time was quoted as 4 weeks but ended up being 6 weeks due to how busy they are.

Gave the guys at vanshades an email after the tension went in my blinds after a few years of ownership and honestly they were fantastic! Elle and eve responded so quickly to my email asking for help on how to repair them, They actually offered to repair them back at the factory for me free of charge! We met Richard at the factory who was the manager and he whisked them away and fixed them before id had chance to finish my brew! What a great company and a brilliant team!
